The Redwood Chordsmen donate their time, energy and money to share their passion for singing with today's young men. At the national level, Harmony Foundation International partners with The Barbershop Harmony Society to support the many philanthropic efforts of the Society. In The Far Western District, we reach out to young men through Youth In Harmony.
Harmony Foundation
Incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in 1959, Harmony Foundation International has lead the philanthropic programs of the Barbershop Harmony Society. During the last six years the beneficiary of the charitable income has been the education and outreach programs of the Society.
Harmony Foundation International, Inc. has for 50 years dedicated itself to supporting the Barbershop Harmony Society in ways that were appropriate at the time. The Society is the world’s largest male a cappella singing organization with approximately 26,000 members in the US and Canada plus affiliates in nine other countries. They sing barbershop style music for recreation, performance and in competitions.
Harmony Foundation believes that singing improves lives. The Foundation’s mission is to support and share the gift of singing as an extraordinary means of making lives more enjoyable, satisfying and meaningful. This is done through funding music education for students in High School and College in order to develop and advance their love and ability for singing. The Foundation fosters a culture of philanthropy in society to carry out comprehensive development programs, and to secure its future through endowment.

Youth In Harmony
The Redwood Chordsmen Chorus is helping lead the cause of encouraging vocal music in our schools and communities." Our Youth In Harmony program includes joint performance opportunities with local high schools such as the Barclay Concert and weekend long seminars (Youth Harmony Camp). Members of our chorus provide coaching for local high school quartets to prepare them for competitions within the district. We provide materials to the schools so that young men have what they need to fuel their barbershop experience. Our chapter quartets regularly sing for the schools choral groups in order to expose them to our unique style of harmony. Together we're helping young men discover the power of music, the power of song. For more information go to Youth In Harmony on the Far Western District web site.
